Chris Meyer

Chris Meyer was the Director of the Center for Business Innovation from 1995 until it was closed by Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in December of 2002. He continues to pursue the CBI's mission-"to anticipate and shape the future of business"-in a new company: nerve.

Nerve is named for the conference described by this website, conducted in October 2002. The conference was designed to be the CBI's "Hubble telescope," looking far into the future for insights from science and society that will shape business and the economy for a decade.

At nerve, Chris continues to do research, consulting, writing, and speaking about the trends shaping business and economic developments. His 2003 book It's Alive: The Coming Convergence of Information, Biology, and Business can be explored at www.itsalivebook.com.

Chris currently focuses on the development of the Adaptive Enterprise, helping companies create the capacity to sense, respond, learn, and adapt to changes in their business environments. Recent projects include assessing the feasibility of an immune system to prevent financial fraud, recruiting a highly diverse advisory board for a health care company, and creating an immersive semiannual conference for an innovation group to help keep them focused on weak signals from the future. He serves as Research Director for Cap Gemini's Trends Consortium.
